Pauli’s Place Walking Tour – Saturday June 10 @ 10 a.m.

Theater, history, dance and storytelling woven together in an educational tour of Durham’s West End neighborhood.

A 1-hour long walk into Pauli and her Fitzgerald family history in Durham’s West End Neighborhood.

Meet some of the people and places that shaped poet, writer, activist, lawyer, and priest, Pauli Murray. Aya Shabu and friends share stories about Pauli Murray’s multi-racial ancestry and heritage, the significance of Black Civil War soldiers, the Freedman Schools movement, and long-time local residents to illuminate this unsung she-ro and her childhood home.

This tour is a collaboration between Whistle Stop Tours and Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice.
