Join us for a big birthday celebration: Help Unveil the Pauli Murray NC Historic Marker. Come create a public art installation. Walk through a maze of decorated shoes by you. Listen to Youth Prophecy Poetry Contest Winners. Share in Birthday Cake.
1 p.m. – Join artist Bryant Holsenbeck, decorate a shoe and help us build the PROUD SHOES LABYRINTH at the Pauli Murray House, 906 Carroll Street in Durham’s West End Neighborhood.
3 p.m. – PAULI MURRAY HISTORIC MARKER UNVEILING at W. Chapel Hill & Carroll Streets
4 p.m. – PAULI MURRAY BIRTHDAY PARTY & Youth Prophecy Poetry Contest Winners Reading at Lyon Park Community Center, Halley & Kent Streets.
