Homecoming Celebration of National Historic Landmark Designation – Saturday April 1, 2017

All Are Welcome! Join NPS and our elected officials, poets, family and community leaders for this momentous occasion.

We’re celebrating the designation of the Pauli Murray Family home as a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service. Join us for a NHL Plaque ceremony, community party, exhibits, arts activities, walking tours and lots of FUN.

Schedule for Homecoming:

1p.m.               Plaque Presentation at the Pauli Murray House

2-5 p.m.         Exhibits about Pauli Murray’s life and legacy

Arts Activities led by local artists Malcolm & Assata Goff and Bryant Holsenbeck

Book Sales (author Patricia Bell-Scott will be on hand to sign copies of The Firebrand and the First Lady, Portrait of a Friendship: Pauli Murray, Eleanor Roosevelt and the Struggle for Social Justice)

12 noon         Neighborhood Walking Tour (starting at the Durham Co-op Market)

3p.m.             Neighborhood Walking Tour starting at the Pauli Murray House

Throughout the day there will be FREE snacks and drinks
