4th Annual Pauli Murray Service at St. Titus’ Episcopal – July 1 @ 7 p.m.

A community wide gathering to lift up the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray at 400 S. Moline Street, Durham.

The celebration will be the fourth one to honor Pauli Murray as a saint since the Episcopal Church voted in 2012 to include her in Holy Women, Holy Men: Celebrating the Saints. She will be honored every July 1 on the church calendar. St. Titus’ Episcopal Church is the church Rev. Dr. Murray attended while growing up in Durham. The Rev. Joyce Cunningham, a member of St. Titus’, and newly ordained Deacon, (June 20), will offer the sermon. The Reverend Stephanie will be the celebrant. A choir composed of representatives of congregations in Durham will provide special music. Also present will be drummers from St. Cyprians’ Episcopal Church, Oxford. Everyone is invited to the service and the ice cream reception that will follow on the church grounds.
